The Professor's Adventures - Gruesome Discovery

"What are you talking about?" The Professor asked, looking over the form laying on the ground. It was not a body, it was too featureless to confirm yes or no on that fact. While looking it over, The Professor could tell something was wrong with the form. "Are you telling me this person was wrapped up and turned into a cocoon?" The Professor slowly eyed over the form, watching it shudder slightly.

"Much worse than that." The ensign replied, sitting next to the form, with more of a somber expression than one would expect, seeing this featureless blob of something, although trying all that they can not to touch it, or even give it a glance, trying to hide the revulsion on their face. "It is like, whatever happened to him, took away everything that made them who they are. We did a scan." The ensign slowly held up their scanner, showing the screen to the Professor. "He, is not even a he anymore. This thing does not even register as human, the markers, the DNA, it doesn't match. All that is, or rather was, this person was completely taken away. Whatever this thing is? This is all that is left of the person they used to be."

A teenage girl, 16 or 17, with cat ear headphones and wearing new age 80s clothing, slowly walked up to the blob, both horrified and fascinated by it. "It almost looks like the blob, from that old horror movie...." Her charm bracelet sparkled a bit in the light, as she moved her hand in front of it, trying to get a reaction, but nothing came from it. She shivered, closing her blue eyes for a moment, before backing away. "Professor, what happened to them?"

"Monsters." He responded. "Rather, Monster is a degrading and lesser term to what these things are, that did this to them." He shivers a bit, clenching his fist in anger, so slightly one could miss it, yet his knuckles started to turn white on his right hand. "It lessens the damage they can cause." He took the scanner from the female ensign, slowly walking to the blob, and kneeling to it, looking at what was left. A blob of skin, natural skin, in the shape of an alien egg, smooth as butter, and pulsing like a heartbeat. Next to it, what every one seemed to have missed, was a small hand mirror, smashed from the inside, like someone punched through the glass on the inside of the mirror. "Mirror Men." The Professor finally spoke after a minute or so of silence.

"Mirror Men?" The ensign questioned. "What are these Mirror Men?"

"A form of life that can only exist in the void. A crystalline race, all of glass, that lives in the reflections of mirrors and other reflective surfaces, sometimes messing with people's reflections and such to make them believe one is experiencing spectral or demonic activity." The Professor slowly rose from the floor. "Sometimes, however, Mimicry is not enough. Sometimes they starve, they crave for more. So, they lash out, and take. Take everything that makes a person what they are, they become the very person they mimic, ripping out everything that is necessary and leaving the excess, the unneeded parts."

"Wait..." The Teenager spoke, slowly looking to the Professor. "Wait, are you say then, that the pulsing we're seeing...?"

"Is the victim's heart still alive."

Professor's Adventures - Post-Departure Blues

The lights blared down from the old LED lighting in the nightclub. A dance bar, a dance studio, whatever the name changed to on a weekly basis. The pastel colored clothing, the perms, the mullets, the afros, this place could not be more 80s if it tried, however, something stuck out like a sore thumb in this place. A man, healing from a hurt heart and sadness, his dark green coat sucking in the blinking lights shining from the ceiling trying to brighten him up through the multicolored lights. This man was the Professor, sent here by his TARDIS by some unknown reason, sitting at the end of the establishment hearing the place go berserk with dancing music, so loud it could burst his eardrums if he got any closer.

It always hurt, saying goodbye to a friend. It never got easier over the years, as he sat there, watching the smiling faces dancing on the reflective dance floor. They were his friends, almost like his family, and yet he couldn't help but feel low every time he said farewell to one, their journey at an end and their story now on the right path. He knew it was time for them to leave, and yet the pain always came to his heart.

So now, here he was, in some 80s Disco parlor trying to heal his hearts, drinking ice water from a glass as he sat in a booth, watching the people dancing and having a joyful time. After a few minutes of internal silence, he finally heard a female voice echo in his head. "She'll be alright, you know."

"I know..." He replied softly, knowing no one could hear him over the music, but still taking the precaution about talking to himself, taking a small drink. "It's just..."

"I understand. It's hit hard." The voice echoed in his mind, followed by a low thrum. "Why do you think I brought you here. Go have fun, at least. Or at least listen to the music. Friends take care of friends, and you are one of my oldest after all."

He slightly chuckled to himself. "Old Friend, are you getting soft on me?"

"Oy." The voice echoed in his head. "Don't push yourself."

The two slightly chuckled, watching and listening to the music.

Professor's Adventures - Cynthia's Departure

 "You have everything with you?"

The Professor walked into the console room, holding a small suitcase in his hand, helping Cynthia as she carried another, much more bigger one, on her shoulder, as she had a slight smile on her face.

"That's everything, Professor." Cynthia looked to him with a smile, taking the other suitcase with her free hand, heading for the door. "Thank you, for keeping my room the same. It was helpful, seeing the multiverse again, getting my mind in sync again."

"No worried, Cynthia." He responded, giving a small smile in return. "You all are like family to me, each one of you help me see the multiverse in ways I haven't before." He slowly walked with her to the door. "You could stay, you know. Stay onboard, a little longer. Sticking to a schedule like this....?"

She chuckled. "No, No, I know that feeling. I know when it's time, Professor. I don't want to take someone else's spot, someone who needs the help you gave me, and Blue, way back when, even when you were in need of help yourself." She slowly gave him a hug, as the TARDIS landed, and she slightly opened the door, looking out at the alleyway in which they left from, merely a few minutes since her departure.

"This won't be the last time." He looked at her. "I'll drop in from time to time, check up on you."

"I'm looking forward to it." She slowly gave the Professor another hug. "Until the next time, Teach." She chuckled, and slowly headed out the doors, as the Professor watched her step out, silently, before he slowly shut the doors, and the TARDIS took off on it's own.
